money is the root of all evil

is it so bad to do what i love?

"but you're not going to make a lot of money"

i don't give a fuck

i'm not looking for some ritzy life with nice cars and designer clothes
i'm just looking to do what i love


theatre

people are so overly concerned with making money
we are losing ourselves simply because we want money
who really needs that?
i mean ultimatly what decides success?
is it the money?
is it true that

whoever dies with the most toys wins

i thought that success lies in doing what you love

success lies in happiness

families

smiles

not money

it doesn't matter who's driving the fastest car or who has the biggest house
sure you kids are going to become doctors or business people
sure you're going to make tons more money than i am

but who's going to be happier?
who's going to be the one who loves to go to work?
who's going to be the one who is actually content with their life when they lay down at night
the answer is the person who is doing what they love
i don't need a lot of money
all i need is just enough to get by

money is not what's going to make me feel fullfilled
i'll be the happy one because i'll be doing what i love


regardless of how much money i make or dont make




but why do i feel like such a failure because i'm not going into some big money making field??

I know exactly what you're talking about. I used to have this big plan about going to college, and doing all these things, and making all kinds of money, and I discovered that isn't what I want at all. I'm going to do things that make me happy.

that's what i like to hear...but do you think it is worth losing someone you care about...the thing is my boyfriend is very upsest that i am persuing theatre. he says it's not smart. i'm just affraid that if i stay with him and do what he thinks is smart i'll be unhappy. to stay or not to stay??

I think you should go the happy route, He should understand, he's ready to leave you over this?? And besides if you do what he thinks is right, you know what will happen, you will work all your life to make all this money that you'll never be able to use, and when you pass away someone else inherits it. I say do what you think is right, but at the same time try to explain it to him and make him understand, if you want the relationship to still work out.

it's not to be rich, it's to be stable. Stability is what they are probably talking about. Theater is a risky business. You win some you lose some. but it's better to do what you love and not make millions then do something that makes you rich but you hate it. Do what you want, but sometimes scraping by with minimum funds can cause problems. All you have to do is budget. and you'll understand that good since you're a college student now haha :P GOOD LUCK

patty seems cool(if thats still your boyfriend) but hey id leave a girl for music even one i love, so do what you have to do kelly, he shouldnt care if hes worth it and who gives a fuck as long as you can support yourself, if hes worthy of you he will go out and make enough money to support you :-P.

AMEN CHILD AMEN! I totally agree. Thats all the family talks about make money do this do that. I can go into theatre but its becuase everyone in the family did it. Its stupid!
